This is Not Ok, This is Not Normal, This is Not America
Dear President Trump,
How dare you think that just because you sit in a seat of power, you have the right to deny rights to any person? You yourself come from a line of European immigrants, so why on earth can you not empathize with people fleeing from terror? Your travel ban will not stop terrorism, it will only give extremists more to hate about the United States.
In case you are unaware, you are violating the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
You cannot discriminate against immigrants based on their religion. Religion doesn't make somebody good or bad. You claim to be a Christian, however you do not love your neighbor, or refrain from judgement. You do not forgive. You are neither kind nor tenderhearted. You and you Vice President twist the values taught in the Bible to suit your own agenda. I know many kind and tolerant believers of the Christian faith, but you are not one of them. Just like your bigotry and intolerance does not represent the whole of Christianity, the actions of extremists terrorists does not represent the whole of Islam.
And, on the point of religion, this is a secular nation. Thomas Jefferson said that there was to be a "separation of church and state", this is represented in the First amendment. You are disgracing the founders of our nation by dragging their ideals through fascist mud. You throw slander, you attract intolerance, you spew lies dubbed alternative facts. You fired the Acting Attorney General for doing her job because you do not want to be proven wrong.
The fact is, Mr. Trump, you are a bully. You are mean, you are belligerent, you are loud, you are intolerant, you are un-American. You may be President, but we the people have a right to peaceably assemble and petition the Government for a redress of grievances. And trust me, we have an ever growing list.
Sincerely,
Emma (a staunch oppose of fascism)
